Whistling Sound
When you use your faucet or toilet, do you hear a whistling sound? This may be coming from your toilet’s fill valve, if it is leaking. To check, remove the lid of each toilet in your house, or the one you suspect is causing the problem, and adjust the fill valve mechanism.
Rumbling Sound
When you go to do your laundry, do you hear a rumbling sound coming from your water heater? The garbled noise can indicate sediment buildup at the bottom of the heater which tampers its effectiveness. The sediment won’t allow heat to transfer to the rest of your water heater, thus leaving you with cold or tepid water. If you suspect this is the problem, contact a plumber today. Water heaters can be very hot and pose great danger. If you are not familiar with how one works, now probably is not the time to experiment.
Banging Sound
When you turn on your faucet, does it sound like your pipes are banging in protest? This might mean your water pipes are not properly secured. It can also mean that your water pressure is too high. To stop loose piping from banging into each other, you will need to strap them down. If your water pressure is too high, it might be a good idea to install a water pressure regulator to prevent future damage.
